The Groupement des industries françaises aéronautiques et spatiales (which is often shortened to GIFAS) is a special group for French companies that work with planes, rockets, and space technology. It's like a club for these businesses!
GIFAS was started a long time ago in 1908. Back then, it had a different name: Association des Industries de la Locomotion Aérienne. It got its current name, GIFAS, in 1975.
Today, more than 420 companies are part of GIFAS. The person in charge of GIFAS right now is Guillaume Faury. He is also the CEO of Airbus, a very famous company that builds airplanes.
