Gabriel DeAndre Freeman (born November 5, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He was known for his strong play as a Small forward and Power forward. Gabe Freeman played for many teams around the world during his career. He helped the London Lightning win a championship in Canada. He also won titles in the Philippines with the Philippine Patriots and the San Miguel Beermen.

Early Life and College Years
Gabe Freeman was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He finished high school at McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona in 2004. After high school, he went to Southern Utah University. However, he did not play basketball for their team.
Later, he attended Mesa Community College. During the 2006–07 season, he was a top player there. He scored about 16.8 points and grabbed 8.9 rebounds per game. This made him a first-team All-ACCAC selection.
Professional Basketball Journey
Gabe Freeman started his professional basketball career in 2007. He played for teams in different countries.
Starting in Mexico
In 2007, Freeman joined Correcaminos UAT Reynosa in Mexico. This team was part of the LNBP. In ten games, he averaged 22.6 points and 8.1 rebounds.
Playing in the CBA
For part of the 2008–09 season, Freeman played for the Albany Patroons. This team was in the CBA. His team reached the CBA Finals but lost. In 15 games, he averaged 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds.
Success in the Philippines
Freeman became an "import" player for the San Miguel Beermen in 2009. He quickly became a star. He averaged 22.3 points and 15.5 rebounds in 24 games. He was even named the "Best Import" for that season.
The next season, he continued to play well for San Miguel. He averaged 21.6 points and 17.3 rebounds. He helped the team win their 18th championship. Fans admired his hard work and dedication.
In January 2010, Freeman also joined the Philippine Patriots. They played in the ASEAN Basketball League. He helped them win the championship in 2010. He re-signed with the Patriots in December 2010. In one important game, he scored 36 points and had 11 rebounds.
Australian Adventure
On July 12, 2010, Freeman signed with the Townsville Crocodiles. This team is in Australia's NBL.
Becoming a Lightning Star
In October 2011, Gabe Freeman joined the London Lightning in Canada. This team is part of the National Basketball League of Canada. He quickly became a key player. He was named the NBL Canada Player of the Week multiple times.
The Lightning had a great season, finishing with a 28–8 record. On March 14, 2012, Freeman was named the NBL Canada's first-ever Most Valuable Player. He then led his team to win the first NBL Canada championship. He was also named the Finals' MVP.
Back to the Philippines
After his success in Canada, Freeman returned to the Philippines. He signed with the PBA team Barako Bull Energy in April 2012. He played 7 games, averaging 21.7 points and 14.0 rebounds.
He returned to the Philippine Patriots in September 2012. In January 2013, he signed with the San Miguel Beermen again. He later had an injury and was replaced by another player.
Winning in the PBL
In 2014, Gabe Freeman played for the Rochester Razorsharks. This team was in the Premier Basketball League (PBL). He led his team to win the PBL title. He was named the league's Most Valuable Player and the playoff MVP. He averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Later Career in Canada
On November 19, 2015, Freeman signed with the Saint John Mill Rats in the National Basketball League of Canada. He played alongside another former MVP, Anthony Anderson. In August 2018, Freeman signed with the St. John's Edge, also in the NBL Canada. He finished his professional career in 2019.
Beyond the Court
Gabe Freeman is not just a basketball player. He has also helped kids in London, Ontario. He started a foundation to help children who might not have the chance to play basketball. This foundation helps them get involved in the sport.
Outside of basketball, Freeman is also a mechanic. He used to work at a motorcycle shop in Phoenix.
