Gabe Okoye is a Nigerian-American civil engineer and a leader in Gwinnett County. He used to be the chairman of planning and is now a commissioner there. On November 8, 2022, he was chosen to represent Georgia State in the government. He officially started his job on January 9, 2023.
About Gabe Okoye
Gabe Okoye was born in a place called Enugwu-Agidi. He moved to the United States in 1981. When he first arrived, he worked as a security guard. Later, he went to college and studied to become a civil engineer. He even started his own company called Essex Geoscientist. Mr. Okoye is married and has four children. He has lived in Atlanta since 1992.
Gabe Okoye's Journey in Politics
Gabe Okoye is a member of the Democratic Party. In 2016, he became the chairman for the Democratic Party in Gwinnett County. He helped his party win many elections in 2018. They won 13 out of 25 available seats in the county. These wins were very important.
Because of his great leadership, the Georgia House of Representatives honored him. They passed a special resolution, called Resolution 313 of 2019. This resolution declared November 6, 2019, as "Gabe Okoye Leadership Day." This shows how much his work was appreciated.
