Gabriel Rasch's Cycling Journey
Gabriel Rasch was born in Hole, Norway. When he started his professional cycling career, he often rode on the same team as his fellow Norwegian cyclist, Thor Hushovd. Rasch has said that Hushovd really helped him get started in the world of professional cycling. One of Rasch's early big achievements was winning the Norwegian National Road Race Championship in 2003. This is a very important race in his home country.
After riding for a team called FDJ–BigMat until the end of 2012, Rasch was planning to join a new team. However, he later decided to join Team Sky instead. In October 2013, it was announced that Rasch would stop racing professionally during the 2014 season. He then took on a new role as a directeur sportif for Team Sky. His last professional race was Paris–Roubaix, a very famous and tough one-day race. He finished 117th in that race, marking the end of his racing days.
