Gabriela Ștefania Enache (born 27 December 1974) is a retired Romanian football player. She played as a forward and later as a centre-back. Gabriela is famous for playing on the Romania women's national football team. She holds the record for the most goals scored for Romania's women's team.

On August 14, 2001, Gabriela made history. She scored the very first goal in the UEFA Women's Cup. This was a big European club football tournament. She also scored the first hat-trick in the tournament. A hat-trick means scoring three goals in one game. She was also the top goal scorer in that first tournament.

Early Life and First Steps in Football

Gabriela Enache grew up in Brăila, a city in eastern Romania. When she was younger, she played handball. But at age 15, she decided to switch to football. Just one year later, she started playing in a professional league. Her first team was Voința Brăila.

Playing for Clubs

Playing in Romania

Gabriela played for several clubs in Romania. She started with Voința Brăila. This team later changed its name to Venus Brăila. After that team stopped playing in 1994, she joined Fartec Brașov. She played there until 1995.

Next, Gabriela played for CFR Constanța until 1997. Then she returned to Brașov to play for ICIM Brașov. This team was like a new version of Fartec Brașov. From 1998 to 2000, she played for Conpet Ploiești. She helped her teams win the Romanian league three times. She won with Fartec Brașov in 1995. She also won twice with Conpet Ploiești in 1999 and 2000.

Playing in Moldova

After her time in Romania, Gabriela moved to Moldova. She joined a team called FC Codru Chișinău. In her first season, her team won the Moldovan Women's Football Championship. This win meant they could play in the first-ever 2001–02 UEFA Women's Cup. This was a new European club competition for women's teams.

Gabriela was amazing in this tournament. In a qualifying match against NK Ilirija Ljubljana from Slovenia, she scored 10 goals! She scored four goals in the first game and six in the second. Her team won by a huge score of 18–0. Her second-minute goal in the first game was the very first goal ever scored in the tournament. Her third goal in that game was also the tournament's first hat-trick. She scored two more goals later in the tournament. Gabriela finished as the top scorer with 12 goals.

Playing in Italy

In 2002, Gabriela moved to Italy. She joined a team called Atletico Orestano. She signed a professional contract to play there. In 2003, she moved again to play for Villaputzu. She played as a striker in Italy for eight years. During this time, she scored more than 130 goals!

In 2010, Gabriela changed her playing position. She became a central defender for ACF Villacidro. She retired from playing football in 2012.

Playing for Her Country

Gabriela Enache played for the Romania women's national football team. She played for her country for 11 years. During this time, she played in 92 international games. She scored an impressive 57 goals for Romania. This makes her Romania's all-time top female goal scorer.

Gabriela Enache is married to Miron Tudose. He is also a former football player and now works as a coach.
