Gaia Girls facts for kids
Gaia Girls is a cool series of seven books for kids. It's written by Lee Welles and published by Chelsea Green Publishing in Vermont. The stories are all about our planet Earth, which is shown as a living being called Gaia. It's also about girls who discover special powers to control things like water, earth, and air!
The first book in the series, Enter the Earth, even won some awards in 2007. One of them was the Independent Publisher Book Award.
The Gaia Girls Series
So far, two exciting books have been published in the series.
- Enter the Earth (2006) is the first book. It's about Elizabeth Angier, a girl who just finished fourth grade. She learns that a big company called Harmony Farms wants to buy her family's farm in New York. Elizabeth gets special powers from Gaia, who appears as a talking otter. She must use her new powers to protect her home!
- Way of Water (2007) is the second book. This story follows Miho, a young girl whose parents were lost at sea. She moves to Japan to live with an uncle she's never met. Miho also gets powers from Gaia. She uses them to help her new dolphin friends and convince her uncle to stay living by the sea in a place called Goji.
