About Gail Mabalane
Her Early Life
Gail Mabalane, whose birth name was Gail Nkoane, grew up in Kimberley, a town in South Africa. She is the middle child in her family. When she was just five years old, her mother entered her into her very first beauty pageant, called "Miss Tinkerbell." This was when her family first saw how much potential she had. Later, in 2005, she was one of the Top 5 finalists for "Miss SA Teen."
Becoming a Star
Gail Mabalane started her journey to fame in 2010.
Singing on Idols
She auditioned for the 6th season of Idols South Africa, a popular singing competition. She made it all the way to the Top 10 finalists! However, she was the first person to leave the Top 10 after performing a song called "Please Don't Leave Me" by the singer P!nk.
Her First Acting Roles
In 2011, Gail got her first big acting job. She played the character Lelo Sedibe in the MNet TV series "The Wild." She acted alongside another famous South African actress, Connie Ferguson. "The Wild" ran until 2013.
In August 2015, she appeared in "Generations: The Legacy," which is one of South Africa's most-watched TV shows. She worked with Connie Ferguson again on this show. Gail also starred in the tele-novel series "The Road" in 2015, playing the main role of Kedibone "Kedi" Seakgoe.
