Gallop P. Franklin II is an American politician and a pharmacist. He represents District 8 in the Florida House of Representatives. This district covers part of the Big Bend area in Florida.

Early Life and Education
Gallop Franklin grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. He studied at Florida A&M University. There, he earned a special degree called a Doctor of Pharmacy. This degree allows him to work as a pharmacist.
College Leadership and Public Service
While at Florida A&M University, Gallop Franklin helped many students. He was elected president of the Student Government Association twice. He focused on helping students who found college costs too high.
Franklin also served on the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees. He was also president of the Florida Student Association. This role allowed him to be part of the Florida Board of Governors. This group oversees all state universities in Florida. He was the first student from Florida A&M to serve on this board.
In 2010, Florida Governor Charlie Crist chose Franklin for a special program. It was called the Gubernatorial Fellowship Program. Later, U.S. Senator Bill Nelson nominated him for another program. This was the Open World Leadership Program. Through this program, Franklin visited Russia. He helped promote understanding between American and Eurasian universities.
