Gano is a small place in Butler County, Ohio. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
The Story of Gano
Gano was officially started in 1874. A man named Charles Gano planned out the area. He decided where the streets and lots would be. The community was then named after him.
Before Gano was officially planned, it had a post office. This post office opened in 1872. A post office is where people send and receive mail. It was an important place for the community. However, the post office in Gano closed down in 1910.
