Ganten is a well-known brand of bottled water from China. It's owned by a company called Shenzhen Ganten Food & Beverage Co., Ltd. This company is based in a city called Shenzhen, in Guangdong Province. One of Ganten's most famous water products is called Baisuishan. This name means "Hundred Year Old Mountain" in English. Even though the product is called Baisuishan, people often just call it Ganten water.
How Ganten Started
The company that makes Ganten water, Shenzhen Jingtian Food and Beverage Co., Ltd., began in 1992. It started in the city of Shenzhen.
Over the years, Ganten became more and more popular in China. Between 2015 and 2017, Ganten's share of the bottled water market in China grew. This means more people were choosing Ganten water.
The company's name, "Ganten," sounds like the Cantonese way of saying "Jingtian." In Chinese, the company uses different names for its products. The most common one you'll see is "Baisuishan." Even though the product is called Baisuishan, the packaging often shows the name "Ganten." That's why people in English usually just say "Ganten" when talking about Baisuishan water.
