Gardere's Location and Size
Gardere is located in the southern part of East Baton Rouge Parish. Its exact spot is 30°21′7″N 91°7′44″W / 30.35194°N 91.12889°W. The city of Baton Rouge is right next to Gardere, on its west and northeast sides.
Two main roads help people get around Gardere. Louisiana Highway 30 runs along the southwest edge of the area. Louisiana Highway 42 goes through the northeast part. Both of these highways can take you about 8 miles (13 km) northwest to the center of Baton Rouge. Highway 30 also goes south to St. Gabriel, which is about 6 miles (10 km away). Highway 42 leads east for about 6 miles (10 km) to Interstate 10, a major highway.
The United States Census Bureau says that Gardere covers a total area of about 3.4 square miles (8.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.

For high school, students in the western part of Gardere go to McKinley High School. Students in the eastern part go to Tara High School.
