Frederick Gardner Orford Budd (born February 11, 1904 – died December 1, 1976) was an important Irish judge, lawyer, and politician. He served as a judge in Ireland's highest courts. He was a Judge of the Supreme Court from 1966 to 1975. Before that, he was a Judge of the High Court from 1951 to 1966. He also spent a short time as a Senator for the Dublin University area in 1951.

Early Life and Education
Frederick Gardner Orford Budd was born in Dublin, Ireland. He showed great promise in his studies. In 1925, he was a special student at Trinity College Dublin. There, he focused on learning about Modern History and Political Science. This education helped him prepare for his future career in law and politics.
Political Career
In August 1951, Gardner Budd was chosen to be a Senator. The Seanad Éireann is like a second house of parliament in Ireland. He represented the Dublin University area. He was an Independent Senator, meaning he didn't belong to a specific political party. However, his time as a Senator was very short. He resigned on October 2, 1951. This was because he was appointed as a judge. After he left, William J. E. Jessop won a special by-election to take his place.

He became a Judge of the High Court in October 1951. The High Court deals with serious legal cases. He served in this role for many years, until December 1966.

Family Life
Gardner Budd married Oonah Blennerhassett in August 1931. They had four children together. Their son, Declan Budd, also followed in his father's footsteps and became a High Court justice.
