The Gardner Mill is a historic building located in West Jordan, Utah. It was built in 1877 and is now the main part of a fun shopping area called Gardner Village. This old mill helps us remember the history of Utah.

What is Gardner Village?
Gardner Village is a popular place in West Jordan, Utah. It's built around the old Gardner Mill. Today, the mill and the buildings around it have been turned into a special shopping center. You can find many unique shops, restaurants, and even a furniture store inside the mill itself. It's a great spot for families and friends to explore.
The Historic Gardner Mill
The Gardner Mill was built in 1877. It shows off two cool styles of building: Greek Revival and Federal architecture. These styles were popular a long time ago. The mill was also known as the West Jordan Mill.
In 1982, the mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's an important building that should be protected because of its history.
Who Built the Mill?
The mill was built by a man named Archibald Gardner. He was an immigrant from Scotland and a very important pioneer in Utah. Archibald Gardner was known for building many things. He built over 30 mills, including flour mills and sawmills. He also helped build canals, roads, and dams. He was a very busy and skilled builder!
The Gardner Mill you see today replaced an older mill. It is the only mill still standing in Utah that we know for sure was built by Archibald Gardner. This makes it very special.
