Garneill has an interesting past. A long time ago, in 1899, a post office was opened there. A post office is a place where you can send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1975.
The name "Garneill" is special. It was created by combining the names of two people. These were early settlers who lived in the area. Their names were Garnet and Neill.
