Garry Ringrose's Club Career

Playing for Leinster

Garry Ringrose started his professional rugby career with Leinster. He made his first appearance in the Pro12 league (now called the United Rugby Championship) on September 12, 2015. This was against the Cardiff Blues team. He scored his first "try" (which is like a touchdown in rugby) in his second game. This happened on October 3, 2015, in a match where Leinster won against the Newport Gwent Dragons.

In 2020, Garry was the captain for Leinster in the Pro14 Final. His team won the championship by beating Ulster 27–5. Leinster had a perfect season that year, winning all their domestic games. In November 2023, Garry became a co-captain for Leinster alongside James Ryan. This happened after their previous captain, Johnny Sexton, retired.

Playing for Ireland

Starting with the Under-20s

Garry Ringrose first played for the Ireland under-20s team in 2014. He played against Scotland in the 2014 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. He later returned to the team for the 2014 IRB Junior World Championship. In this tournament, he scored three tries and helped Ireland reach the semi-finals. Because of his great performance, he was one of four players nominated for the "World Rugby Junior Player of the Year" award.

Joining the Senior Team

Garry was chosen to be a substitute player for Ireland's big game against the All Blacks in November 2016. Even though he didn't get to play in that match, he earned his first official "cap" (which means playing in an international game) for the Ireland senior team a week later. He started the game against Canada at the Aviva Stadium, and Ireland won 52–21. In another game that year, he scored his first international try against Australia, helping Ireland win 27–24.

He was part of the Ireland team for the 2017 Six Nations Championship. He scored a try in the game against Italy. Later in 2017, he scored two more tries against Japan in two separate matches.
