Club Career
Playing for Leinster
Garry Ringrose joined the Leinster team after playing very well for the Ireland under-20s. His coach, Leo Cullen, gave him his first game in the Pro12 league on 12 September 2015. This was against the Cardiff Blues team.
He scored his first try (like a touchdown in rugby) in his second game. This was on 3 October, when Leinster won 37–13 against Newport Gwent Dragons.
In 2020, Garry was the captain for Leinster in the Pro14 Final. Leinster won this game 27–5 against their rivals, Ulster. This win meant Leinster had not lost any domestic games that season.
In November 2023, Garry Ringrose became a co-captain for Leinster. He shares this role with James Ryan, after Johnny Sexton retired.
International Career
Playing for Ireland
Garry first played for the Ireland under-20s team in 2014. This was against Scotland in the 2014 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. He later played in the 2014 IRB Junior World Championship. In November 2016, Garry was chosen to be on the bench for Ireland's big game against the All Blacks in Chicago. Even though he didn't play in that game, he earned his first cap (meaning his first game) for the senior Ireland team a week later. He started the game where Ireland won 52–21 against Canada at the Aviva Stadium.
In the last game of Ireland's 2016 Autumn series, he scored his first international try. This was in a 27–24 win against Australia. He also played in the 2017 Six Nations Championship. He scored a try against Italy in that tournament. Later in 2017, he scored two more tries against Japan.
