George Wall's Journey

Building a Home
George Wall bought a second piece of land right next door on April 2, 1906. Sometime in 1906, his house was finished. It was built in the unique shotgun style. This means the rooms are lined up one behind the other, like a shotgun blast could go straight through! The house also had an "el edition" (an extra part shaped like an 'L') and a tin roof.
Walltown's Name
By 1923, the area where George Wall lived and built his home became known as Walltown. This neighborhood was named in his honor, showing how important he was to the community. Today, the George Wall House is still owned by the Wall family, keeping its history alive.
