Gerli Padar (born November 6, 1979) is a talented Estonian singer and actress. She is well-known for representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Gerli also has a famous brother, Tanel Padar, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Estonia in 2001.
Gerli Padar's Career
Gerli Padar has performed in many popular Estonian musicals. She played the main character, Sally, in the musical Cabaret. She also starred as Florence in Chess. Another big role for her was playing Lotte in Lotte, the Detective.
As of 2011, Gerli has released one solo music album.
Eurovision Song Contest
Gerli Padar represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. She sang the song "Partners in Crime". Unfortunately, her song did not make it to the final round. It placed 22nd in the semi-final, getting 33 points.
In the 2010 contest, Gerli had a different role. She was one of the five judges for Estonia. These judges help decide which songs get points.
Eesti Laul Competition
In 2018, Gerli Padar took part in Eesti Laul 2018. This is a competition in Estonia to choose the country's Eurovision entry. She performed with Eliis Pärna. Their song was called Taevas, which means "Sky" in English. They sang the English version in the semi-final. Their song came in last place in the final round of the competition.
