Building Projects
Gerry Gannon has been involved in many large building projects. These projects helped to create many new homes and buildings in Ireland.
In 1986, his company, Structural Developments Ltd, built homes at Castle Village in Celbridge.
Two years later, in 1988, Gannon planned an even bigger project. Through his company Noteworthy Limited, he planned to build 710 houses. This was near Swords in an area called Brackenstown. At the time, this was one of the largest building plans in Dublin. Permission was given for this big project in October 1988. The land for these houses was bought in 1987.
In April 1990, Gannon started trading as Gannon Homes. He then planned a huge project on the Malahide road. This plan included 915 houses on a large piece of land. It also included plans for a shopping centre. They also wanted to build a drive-in restaurant, a pub, and a library. The land for this project came from two different sites.
Gannon has also owned other types of properties. For several years, he owned the Ericsson R&D facility in Athlone, County Westmeath. This is a place where research and development happen. In 2017, this property was put up for sale.
