Giacomo Matteo Furia (born January 2, 1925 – died June 5, 2015) was an Italian actor. He was famous for acting in movies, on TV, and on stage. He appeared in over 130 films during his long career, which lasted from 1948 to 1998.
Giacomo Furia was born in Arienzo, a town near Caserta, Italy. He started his acting journey thanks to a famous director named Eduardo De Filippo. Giacomo met him through a summer job after school. His first professional acting role was on stage in 1945. Three years later, he made his first movie appearance in Assunta Spina.

Giacomo Furia often played "character roles." These are special parts where an actor plays a unique or unusual person, not always the main hero or villain. He was also often a "sidekick" to the famous Italian actor Totò. A sidekick is a close friend or helper to the main character. One of Giacomo's most important roles as a sidekick was in the film The Band of Honest Men.
Giacomo Furia worked with many well-known directors. These included Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini, and Francesco Rosi. These directors are famous for making some of Italy's best movies.
In 1997, Giacomo Furia wrote a book about his life. It was called Le maggiorate, il principe e l'ultimo degli onesti. He wrote it with the help of Michele Avitabile. Giacomo Furia passed away on June 5, 2015, when he was 90 years old.
