In 2005, Giada directed her second full-length movie, Before It Had a Name. She also helped write the story and acted in it. In this film, she worked with Willem Dafoe. They had met earlier while working on a film by Wes Anderson called The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
Later, in 2010, Giada wrote and directed another movie called A Woman. Willem Dafoe also appeared in this film.
