Giannis Gravanis (Greek: Γιάννης Γραβάνης; born January 16, 1958 – died April 30, 2012) was a Greek football player. He was known for playing as a defender.

A Football Star's Journey
Early Club Days
Giannis Gravanis was born in a place called Domokos, in Greece. He started his football journey playing for a local team there, called Achilles Domokos.
Playing for Panionios
In July 1977, Giannis joined a bigger club, Panionios. He played for this team for eleven seasons, which is a long time! During his time there, he played in 269 league matches in Greece's top football league, known as the Alpha Ethniki.
He played his very first game in this top league on January 10, 1978. One of his biggest achievements with Panionios was helping them win the 1978–79 Greek Cup. This was a major football competition, and they won the final match against another strong team, AEK Athens F.C..
Representing Greece
Giannis Gravanis also had the honor of playing for his country. In 1982, he played three matches for the Greece national football team. It's a special moment for any player to represent their nation.
Later Career and Passing
After his long career with Panionios, Giannis Gravanis also played briefly for Panachaiki.
Giannis Gravanis passed away in a hospital in Patras, Greece, when he was 54 years old. He is remembered as a dedicated footballer who played many years in the Greek top league.
