Gianpiero Marini (born 25 February 1951) is a famous Italian former professional football manager and player. He played as a midfielder.
Marini was known as a strong and hard-working defensive midfielder. He played for several Italian clubs during his career. His most famous time was with Internazionale (often called Inter Milan). He spent 11 seasons with Inter, winning a Serie A title and two Coppa Italia cups.
He also played for the Italian national team 20 times between 1980 and 1983. He was a key member of the team that won the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
After his playing career, Marini became a football manager. He coached Internazionale and won the UEFA Cup with them in 1994. He also managed other teams like Como, Cremonese, and the Italy B side.
