Gila Hanna facts for kids
Gila Hanna is a Canadian expert in math education and the ideas behind math. She studies things like what math proofs are and how they help us learn. She also looks at how to make sure everyone, no matter their gender, has a fair chance to learn math.
Dr. Hanna is a professor at the University of Toronto. She used to lead math education at the Fields Institute, which is a big math research center. She also started the Canadian Journal of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education, a magazine for teachers and researchers.

Gila Hanna has written several books. One of her books is called Contact and Communication: An Evaluation of Bilingual Student Exchange Programs (1980). She also wrote Rigorous Proof in Mathematics Education (1983), which is about teaching strong math proofs.
