The Gilmore Building, also known as the Gilmore Hotel, is a cool old building in Ketchikan, Alaska. It's a historic spot located at 326 Front Street. This building is made of strong materials like bricks or stone and has three floors.

It sits right next to the Ketchikan City Hall. The Gilmore Building was constructed between 1926 and 1927. P. J. Gilmore, Sr. had it built to meet the needs of the growing town. People needed more shops and places to stay.

The Gilmore Building: A Historic Alaskan Landmark

The Gilmore Building has a unique shape, like a reversed letter "L". The long part of the "L" faces Front Street. On the ground floor, you'll find three different shops. The floors above are filled with hotel rooms.

Why is the Gilmore Building Special?
