Giovani Lo Celso (born April 9, 1996) is a talented Argentine professional footballer. He plays as a midfielder for the Spanish club Real Betis. Giovani also represents his home country, Argentina, on their national football team. He is known for his skill and vision on the field.

Playing for Clubs: Giovani Lo Celso's Journey
Starting at Rosario Central
Giovani Lo Celso began his football journey at Rosario Central, a club in Argentina. He made his first league appearance on July 19, 2015. This was in a game against Vélez Sarsfield. On February 28, 2016, Giovani scored his first goal for Rosario Central. It was in a 3–0 win against Colón. He scored another goal on April 10, 2016, against Vélez Sarsfield.
Moving to Paris Saint-Germain
On July 26, 2016, Giovani joined the famous French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He signed a five-year contract. He stayed at Rosario Central on loan until the end of 2016. Giovani played his first game for PSG on April 5, 2017. This was in a French Cup quarter-final match. He came on as a substitute in a 4–0 victory.
Giovani also helped PSG in the UEFA Champions League. He assisted a goal in a big 7–1 win against Celtic FC. On January 30, 2018, he scored his first goal for PSG. Playing for Tottenham Hotspur
On August 8, 2019, Giovani joined Tottenham Hotspur in England. He first came on a season-long loan. He made his debut as a substitute against Manchester City. After an injury, he made his first start for Tottenham. He scored his first goal for them in a 4–0 win against Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League.
On January 14, 2020, Giovani scored in an FA Cup game against Middlesbrough. Tottenham won 2–1. His loan move became permanent on January 28, 2020. He signed a contract until 2025.

Loan to Villarreal
On January 31, 2022, Giovani went back to Spain. He joined Villarreal on loan until the end of the season. He rejoined Villarreal on loan again for the 2022–23 season. In November 2022, he had a hamstring injury. He had surgery to fix it.
Back at Tottenham
After his injury, Giovani returned to Tottenham. On November 26, 2023, he started his first Premier League game in over two years. He scored Tottenham's only goal in a 2–1 loss to Aston Villa. In the next game, he scored again. This was in a 3–3 draw against Manchester City.
Returning to Real Betis
On August 30, 2024, Giovani left Tottenham Hotspur. He returned to Real Betis, signing a four-year deal. He quickly made an impact, scoring two goals on September 18, 2024. This helped Betis win 2–1 against Getafe.

Youth Team
Because he played so well for Rosario Central, Giovani was chosen for the Argentina U23 squad. This team played in the 2016 Summer Olympics. On August 4, 2016, Giovani made his debut for the U23 team. This was in a game against Portugal.
Senior National Team

On November 11, 2017, Giovani played his first game for the senior Argentine national team. It was a 1–0 win against Russia. In May 2018, he was picked for Argentina's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
In May 2019, Giovani was part of Argentina's team for the 2019 Copa América. On June 28, he scored Argentina's second goal in a 2–0 win against Venezuela. This helped his team reach the semi-finals.
In June 2021, Giovani was again selected for the 2021 Copa América. Argentina won this tournament! He also played against Italy in the Finalissima in 2022. Argentina won that game 3–0. He could not play in the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to a hamstring injury.
After recovering, he returned to the national team. On November 21, 2023, he provided an assist in a World Cup qualifier against Brazil. Argentina won 1–0, which was a historic away win. In June 2024, Giovani was again selected for the 2024 Copa América. In the final against Colombia, he came on as a substitute. He then assisted Lautaro Martínez for the winning goal, helping Argentina become champions again!
Personal Life
Giovani Lo Celso was born in Argentina. He also has an Italian passport because his family has Italian roots. His younger brother, Francesco Lo Celso, is also a professional footballer. Francesco currently plays for Rosario Central, just like Giovani did.
