Giovani Lo Celso (born April 9, 1996) is a professional football player from Argentina. He plays as an attacking midfielder for the Spanish club Real Betis and for the Argentina national team.

Club Career Highlights
Giovani Lo Celso started his football journey in Argentina and has played for several big clubs in Europe.
Starting at Rosario Central
Lo Celso grew up playing football at Rosario Central in Argentina. He made his first professional league appearance on July 19, 2015. In February 2016, he scored his first goal for Rosario Central in a 3–0 win.
Moving to Paris Saint-Germain
In July 2016, Lo Celso joined the famous French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He stayed on loan at Rosario Central until the end of 2016. He made his debut for PSG in April 2017. He later scored his first goal for PSG in January 2018. In May 2018, he helped PSG win the French Cup.
Time with Real Betis
In August 2018, Lo Celso moved to the Spanish club Real Betis on a loan deal. He played so well that Betis decided to buy him permanently in April 2019. During his time there, he played 46 games and scored 16 goals.
Playing for Tottenham Hotspur
In August 2019, Lo Celso joined Tottenham Hotspur in England, first on loan. He made his debut in a Premier League match against Manchester City. After an injury, he scored his first goal for Tottenham in a UEFA Champions League game in October 2019. His move to Tottenham became permanent in January 2020.
Loan Spells at Villarreal

In August 2024, Lo Celso left Tottenham and went back to Real Betis, signing a four-year contract. He quickly made an impact, scoring two goals in a league victory in September 2024.
International Career
Giovani Lo Celso has represented Argentina at both youth and senior levels.
Youth Team Appearances
Because of his strong performances, Lo Celso was called up to the Argentina U23 squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics. He made his debut for the U23 team in August 2016.
Senior National Team

Lo Celso played his first game for the senior Argentine squad in November 2017. In May 2018, he was chosen for Argentina's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2021 Copa América and the 2024 Copa América. He also helped Argentina win the Finalissima in June 2022. He missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to an injury.
After recovering, he returned to the national team. In November 2023, he provided an important assist in a 1-0 win against Brazil during a World Cup qualifier. In the 2024 Copa América final in July 2024, he came on as a substitute and assisted the winning goal that made Argentina champions.

Giovani Lo Celso was born in Argentina. He also has an Italian passport because of his family's Italian background. His younger brother, Francesco, is also a professional football player.
