Giovanni Bracco's Racing Journey
Giovanni Bracco loved racing cars. Before and after World War II, he often raced Lancia Aprilia cars. He was very skilled behind the wheel.
Early Wins and Successes
In 1948, Giovanni won the 2-litre class of the 1948 Italian Grand Prix. He was driving a Maserati A6 GCS car. This was a big achievement for him.
Joining Ferrari and Big Victories
From 1950 to 1952, Giovanni Bracco joined the famous Ferrari racing team. This was a very successful time in his career.
Winning the Mille Miglia
One of his most famous wins was in 1952. He won the challenging Mille Miglia race while driving a Ferrari 250 S. The Mille Miglia was a long-distance road race across Italy.
Teamwork with Umberto Maglioli
In 1951, Giovanni raced with his younger friend and student, Umberto Maglioli. They worked together and finished second in the Mille Miglia race. They were driving a Lancia Aurelia B20 car.
Later Races
Giovanni continued to race different cars. In 1955, he competed in a Maserati 200S.
An Unfortunate Accident
During a race at the Modena Grand Prix in 1947, Giovanni had an unfortunate accident. His Delage 3000 car went off the track, and some spectators were injured.
