Giovanni Paolo Gibertini (born May 4, 1922 – died April 3, 2020) was an Italian Catholic leader. He was a bishop, which is a high-ranking priest in the Catholic Church. He served as the Bishop of Ales-Terralba from 1983 to 1989. After that, he became the Bishop of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla from 1989 until 1998. He was also a member of the Benedictine Order, a group of monks.

Early Life and Priesthood

Giovanni Paolo Gibertini was born in a town called Ciano d'Enza, Italy. He chose to become a priest and was ordained on August 12, 1945. He joined the Order of Saint Benedict, which is a religious group for men who follow the rules of Saint Benedict.

Becoming a Bishop

Gibertini was chosen to become a bishop on March 23, 1983. His first role as a bishop was for the Diocese of Ales-Terralba. He served there for six years.

Later Years and Retirement

On June 11, 1989, Bishop Gibertini was appointed to a new role. He became the Bishop of the Diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla. He continued to serve in this important position until he retired on June 27, 1998. Bishop Gibertini passed away on April 3, 2020, in Montecchio Emilia, Italy, at the age of 97.
