Gipsy, Pennsylvania facts for kids
Gipsy is a small place in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
A Look at Gipsy's Past
Gipsy started to grow after the year 1885. It was built in an area where people mined for coal. Coal mining was a very important job back then, providing fuel for homes and factories.
A post office was opened in Gipsy in 1891. This meant that people living in Gipsy could send and receive mail right in their own community.
