Girl Meets Ghost is a fun book series that started in 2013. It was written by Lauren Barnholdt. The stories are about a young girl named Kendall. The Books in the Series
Book 1: Girl Meets Ghost (2013)
In the first book, Kendall meets Daniella. Daniella is the ghost of a high school gymnast. She is very determined and wants Kendall's help to "move on." But Kendall has other things on her mind. She likes a boy named Brandon and is worried about her math grades.
Kendall's best friend, Ellie, likes Brandon's friend, Kyle. Meanwhile, Brandon keeps seeing Kendall doing strange things. She is often talking to herself, but she is really talking to ghosts! She even gets caught digging in a graveyard.
Things get more complicated when Brandon's mom, who is also a ghost, starts haunting Kendall. She seems to be warning Kendall to stay away from Brandon, even though they have started dating. Kendall tries to help Daniella by talking to Daniella's friend, Jen. Kendall also worries about her dad's relationship with his friend, Cindy.
Kendall finds out that Daniella and Jen had a fight over a boy. Jen refused to give Daniella a ride to a gymnastics meet. Daniella took a bus, which then crashed, and she died. Jen felt responsible. Kendall helps Daniella and Jen talk things out. Daniella is able to move on when Jen realizes Daniella does not blame her.
Book 2: The Harder the Fall (2013)
In the second book, Kendall meets Lyra. Lyra is the ghost of a stylish teen who wanted to be a scientist. Lyra's mom is very sad after her daughter's death. She is also losing her business, a spa, because it doesn't have enough staff or equipment.
Kendall also learns something surprising. Brandon's mom, the ghost who keeps haunting Kendall, was friends with Kendall's own mom in school. Kendall's mom left when Kendall was a baby.
One day, while apple picking with her dad, Cindy, and Brandon, Kendall's dad proposes to Cindy. He gives her a "promise ring" in public. This makes Kendall's home life feel very confusing.
Also, things with Brandon are not going well. A new girl at school, Madison, seems interested in Brandon. Kendall starts acting more and more strangely because of the ghosts. Ellie, Kendall's best friend, starts to suspect Kendall is hiding something big.
Book 3: Ghost of a Chance (2014)
In the third book, Kendall is still helping Lyra, the ghost from the second book. While doing this, Kendall starts spending time with Micah, who is Lyra's brother. Now, her boyfriend, Brandon, and her best friend, Ellie, are not talking to her.
On top of that, Kendall's dad is getting very serious with his girlfriend, Cindy. Kendall also has to help the ghost of Lily, who is the sister of Madison, a girl Kendall doesn't get along with. Kendall feels like she can't handle it anymore!
So, Kendall decides to visit her mother. Her mom left when Kendall was a baby. Kendall hopes her mom can give her answers about why she can see ghosts. Kendall hopes to find the truth before things get even worse.

- Kyle's Mom — She often gives the kids rides. In the first book, she asks Kendall about her interest in theater when Kendall is overheard talking to ghosts. Kendall uses "practicing a monologue" as an excuse.
