Giselle Andrea Kañevsky (born August 4, 1985, in Buenos Aires) is a famous Argentine field hockey player. She plays as a defender for the Argentina national team, also known as "Las Leonas" (The Lionesses). Giselle has won many important medals throughout her career.

Giselle Kañevsky's Early Hockey Journey

Giselle Kañevsky started playing field hockey when she was just seven years old. Her first club was Los Cardales. Three years later, she moved to play for Náutico Hacoaj.

Joining the National Teams

In 2005, Giselle was part of Argentina's National Junior Championship team. This was a big step in her career. A year later, in 2006, she made her debut with the senior national team.

Achievements with Las Leonas

Giselle Kañevsky has achieved great success with the Argentina national field hockey team, "Las Leonas." She has won medals in major international tournaments.

Olympic Medal Winner

In August 2008, Giselle won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. This was a proud moment for her and her team. The Olympics are a huge global sports event.

After an eight-year break from the national team, Giselle returned in 2019. She rejoined "Las Leonas" under the coaching of Carlos Retegui. Her return showed her dedication to the sport and her country.
