Giuliana De Sio (born on April 2, 1957) is a famous Italian actress. She is the younger sister of Teresa De Sio, a well-known pop-folk singer. Giuliana has won many important awards for her acting. These include two David di Donatello for Best Actress awards, which are like the Italian Oscars. She has also won several Nastro d'Argento for Best Actress awards, another top film prize in Italy.

Early Life and First Steps in Acting
Giuliana De Sio was born in Salerno, Italy. She grew up in a town called Cava de' Tirreni, where her family is from. When she was just five years old, Giuliana performed for the first time on stage at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno.
At 18, she moved to Terrasini. Later, she moved to Rome. There, she met friends like Teresa Ann Savoy and Alessandro Haber. They encouraged her to try acting.
Starting Her Professional Career
Giuliana began her acting career in 1976. Gianni Bongiovanni chose her for a TV movie called Una donna. After that, she got roles in other films. Director Elio Petri cast her in Mani sporche. Tonino Cervi also picked her to star in Il malato immaginario with the famous actor Alberto Sordi.
Key Film Roles
In the early 1980s, Giuliana met director Massimo Troisi. He gave her a big role in his second movie, Scusate il ritardo (1982). She also worked with actor and director Francesco Nuti in two popular films: The Pool Hustlers (1982) and Casablanca Casablanca (1985).
Recent Years
In March 2020, Giuliana De Sio became sick with COVID-19. Luckily, she recovered completely after a few days. She continues to act in films and TV shows today.
