Glasgow, Tuscarawas County, Ohio facts for kids
Glasgow is a small place, also known as an unincorporated community, located in Tuscarawas County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. An unincorporated community is a town or village that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or a formally organized village would.
History
Glasgow got its start thanks to some investors from Scotland. These investors decided to build a special kind of factory there called a blast furnace. A blast furnace is a very large oven used to melt iron ore and make iron. The town itself was officially planned out, or platted, in 1873. This means that maps were drawn up showing where the streets, houses, and other buildings would go.
