Gleisi Helena Hoffmann (born September 6, 1965) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician. She is known for her important roles in the Brazilian government. From 2011 to 2014, she served as the Chief of Staff of Brazil, which is a top position in the president's team. This was during the time Dilma Rousseff was president.
After that, Gleisi Hoffmann became a Senator for the state of Paraná. In 2017, she became the national president of the Workers' Party, a major political party in Brazil. In March 2025, she took on a new role as Secretary of Institutional Affairs in the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Gleisi Hoffmann's Early Life and Political Start
Gleisi Hoffmann started her journey in politics when she was young. She was part of student movements. In 1989, she became a member of the Workers' Party.
Education and Early Career
Gleisi studied law and graduated from the Centro Universitário Curitiba. She used her skills in public management to work in government roles. She served as a state secretary in Mato Grosso do Sul. She also worked as a city secretary in Londrina.
Working with President Lula
In 2002, Gleisi Hoffmann was part of the team that helped prepare for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to become president. This team helps a new president get ready to take office. From 2003 to 2006, she was a financial director at the Itaipu Binacional hydroelectric dam. This is a very large power plant.
