Glenview is a friendly neighbourhood, also called a suburb, located in the southern part of Hamilton, a city in New Zealand. It was given its name by Bruce Lugton, who was a developer. He thought "Glenview" was a perfect name because it described the area well. Glenview officially became a suburb in 1963.
Glenview is known for being the home of New Zealand's very first shopping mall. This mall, called Big A Plaza, opened in 1969. Today, Glenview has a smaller shopping centre and a nice place to relax called Resthills Park.
