Gloria Talbott (born February 7, 1931 – died September 19, 2000) was an American actress. She was known for her roles in both movies and television shows.

Early Life and First Roles

Gloria Maude Talbott was born in Glendale, California. Her family had a long history in the area. Her great-grandfather helped plan the city of Glendale.

Gloria started acting when she was very young. She appeared in movies like Maytime (1937) and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (1945). She went to Glendale High School. In 1947, she won the "Miss Glendale" beauty pageant. She also performed in plays on stage.

Gloria's sister, Lori Talbott, was also an actress. After school, Gloria formed her own acting group. She stopped acting for a while after her first marriage. But she returned to acting after her divorce. She then worked a lot in both movies and TV.

Gloria Talbott acted in many films during the 1950s. She appeared in Crashout (1955) and the comedy We're No Angels (1955). She also had roles in Lucy Gallant (1955) and All That Heaven Allows (1955).

She played an American Indian character named Shona in The Oregon Trail (1959).

Gloria became known as a "scream queen" because she starred in several horror films. These included The Daughter of Dr. Jekyll (1957) and I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958). She also appeared in The Cyclops (1957) and The Leech Woman (1960).

Her last movie role was in the Western film An Eye for an Eye (1966). She played a character named Bri Quince.

Television Appearances

Gloria Talbott was a popular guest star on many TV shows. In 1953, she appeared in "The Crime of Sylvester Bonnard" on Favorite Story.

In 1955, she played Pocahontas in an episode of TV Reader's Digest. She was also one of the first guest stars on the new Western shows Gunsmoke and The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.

She appeared in a science-fiction episode of Conflict called "Man From 1997" in 1956. She also guest-starred in the first episode of Mr. Adams and Eve in 1957.

Gloria had roles in many other Western TV series. These included Sugarfoot, The Restless Gun, and Cimarron City. She also appeared in The Range Rider and The Cisco Kid.

She was in the crime drama Wanted: Dead or Alive twice. She also appeared in several episodes of Zorro.

In the early 1960s, she guest-starred on Riverboat and The Roaring 20s. She also appeared in popular Westerns like The Rebel and Bonanza.

Gloria made two appearances on Bat Masterson. She also appeared three times on the Western series Rawhide.

She was a guest star on the courtroom drama Perry Mason four times between 1961 and 1966. Her final TV role was in an episode of Death Valley Days in 1965.
