Meet the Gobbledok
The Gobbledok is an alien who loves chips more than anything! It has a unique look with a spiky, multi-colored mohawk on its head. When it sees Smith's chips, it gets very excited and often says its famous line, "chippie, chippie, chippie!" This character quickly became a favorite in Australia.
How the Gobbledok Was Created
The idea for the Gobbledok first came from John Finkelson, who worked at an advertising company in Sydney. It was originally meant for just one TV advertisement. A special effects artist named Warren Beaton designed and built the character. Warren Beaton later worked on many famous movies at Weta Workshop, which is known for its amazing special effects.

People loved the Gobbledok so much that it became a huge success! Because of this, it appeared in many more advertisements between 1987 and 1996. Even today, the Gobbledok still pops up sometimes in new commercials and on chip bags.
