About the Show's Story
The TV show Gofrette follows a very curious cat named Gofrette. He has exciting adventures with his best friends, a dog and a bird. Their adventures often remind us of the show's motto: "... that busy, busy cat!" The story happens in a make-believe town called Zanimo. This town doesn't have a mayor! The show gets its ideas from the original books by Doris Brasset and Fabienne Michot.
Meet the Characters
Main Characters
- Gofrette: He is a curious cat who makes every day in Zanimo exciting. Gofrette has a huge imagination and loves trying new things. He lives in a house with his talking refrigerator, Red. He also has a stuffed animal named Long Ears. Tiny, creative creatures called Gnugnuts live with him too. Gofrette's uncle, Garbanzo, is an acrobat who owns a circus called El Teatro Zanimo. Gofrette's grandmother, Granny Smith, is mentioned and seen in photos. Gofrette often says, "Zowy!" or "Zowy zow zow!" His voice is done by Sonja Ball.
- Fudge: This is a dog with big, floppy ears. Fudge sometimes doesn't want to do things he thinks are scary or embarrassing. But he usually joins in and has fun! He is a bit particular about his ears. Fudge lives in a van called the Zanimo Wagon. He and Gofrette have been friends since they were a puppy and a kitten. Fudge often says, "Wowie Zowie Gofrette." He has an older brother named Moocher, who fixes things and is an artist. Mark Camacho is the voice of Fudge. In the books, Fudge is also known as "Blue."
- Ellie Coptor: She is a pink bird with a propeller on her head. The propeller spins depending on how she feels! Ellie runs a hair salon in her treehouse. She also loves fashion and giving makeovers. As Gofrette and Fudge's best friend, Ellie completes their trio. She is fun, creative, and sometimes a bit nervous, but always strong. Ellie's favorite snack is worms, which Fudge finds a bit gross! Her voice is done by Lucinda Davis. Ellie has an Aunt Edna who wrote a book in the cartoon called "Trapezee is for the birds."
