Goliath is a thrilling steel inverted roller coaster located at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas. It first opened its doors to riders on April 18, 2008. This coaster is famous for its unique design where riders' feet dangle in the air, making it feel like you're flying!

About Goliath

Goliath is a type of roller coaster known as an "inverted coaster." This means the train runs below the track, not on top of it. Your legs hang freely, which adds to the excitement as you twist and turn through the ride. It's a very popular attraction at the Six Flags Fiesta Texas park.

Ride Experience

The adventure on Goliath begins as the train slowly climbs a 105-foot tall lift hill. This chain lift pulls you to the very top, giving you a great view before the big drop. Once at the peak, the train plunges down an 80-foot drop. You'll quickly pick up speed, reaching up to 50 miles per hour!

During the ride, you will experience five exciting inversions. An inversion is when the track turns you upside down. These include a huge vertical loop, a zero-g roll (where you feel weightless), and a corkscrew that twists you around. The whole ride lasts about two minutes, packed with twists, turns, and upside-down fun.

Design and Features

Goliath was built by Bolliger & Mabillard, a well-known company that designs many famous roller coasters. They are known for making smooth and exciting inverted coasters. The track is 2,693 feet long, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the ride.

The coaster has two trains, each with seven cars. Four riders can sit in each car, making it a total of 28 riders per train. This helps move many people through the line quickly. To ride Goliath, you need to be at least 54 inches tall for safety.

Goliath's Journey

Before coming to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this roller coaster had a different home and different names. It was originally known as Batman: The Ride at Six Flags New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina caused a lot of damage in 2005, the park closed. The roller coaster was then moved to its current location in Texas.

When it moved, it was renamed Goliath. This shows how roller coasters can sometimes travel to new parks and get a fresh start. It's a great example of how parks reuse and update their attractions.
