Gonzalo Justo Facio Segreda (born March 28, 1918 – died January 24, 2018) was an important person from Costa Rica. He was a lawyer, a politician, and a diplomat. This means he worked with laws, served in the government, and represented his country to other nations.

Early Life and Education

Gonzalo Facio Segreda was born in San José, Costa Rica, on March 28, 1918. His parents were Gonzalo Facio Ulloa and María Teresa Segreda Solera.

He studied law at two different universities. First, he went to the University of Costa Rica. Later, he continued his studies at New York University in the United States.

Political Career

Gonzalo Facio Segreda played a big role in Costa Rican politics. He was part of the group that helped create the Second Republic of Costa Rica. He also helped start the National Liberation Party, which is a major political party in Costa Rica.

President of the Legislative Assembly

From 1953 to 1956, Facio Segreda was the President of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica. This is like being the speaker of the country's parliament, where laws are made.

Minister of Foreign Affairs
