Goran Rubil, born on March 9, 1981, is a former professional footballer from Croatia. He mostly played as a midfielder during his career.

Goran Rubil's Football Journey
Goran Rubil began his football journey in his hometown, playing for the club Marsonia Slavonski Brod. When he was 17, he moved to France to join FC Nantes. He stayed with Nantes until the middle of 2005.
Playing for Nantes and on Loan
While at Nantes, Goran played ten league matches for the main team. However, he was a regular player for Croatia's national youth teams, including the Under-19 and Under-21 squads. During the 2003–2004 season, he played on loan for Stade Lavallois. There, he appeared in eight matches and scored one goal. In August 2005, Goran also became a French citizen.
Moving to Japan and Back to Croatia
In mid-2005, Goran decided to play in Japan. He signed with Shonan Bellmare, a team in the J2 League. After a year, in early 2006, he returned to Croatia. He joined HNK Rijeka and played there until the end of 2006.
Joining Hajduk Split
Many clubs were interested in Goran after he left Rijeka. He even went to England for a trial with Leeds United. However, he decided to return to Croatia and signed a 3.5-year contract with Hajduk Split. He played many games for Hajduk Split, becoming an important part of the team.
Later Career and Retirement
After his time at Hajduk Split, Goran moved to Greece. He joined Asteras Tripolis in 2010. He played for them until 2012, before ending his professional football career.
