History of Gordon
Gordon used to have its own post office. It was open for many years, from June 30, 1884, until June 30, 1936. This was a place where people could send and receive mail.
Gordon was also a stop on the famous Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. Trains would stop here, which was important for travel and moving goods a long time ago.
