River's Journey

The Goulet River starts its journey in a place called the 2e rang of Saint-Louis-de-Blandford. From there, it flows for about 10.1 km (6.3 mi).

Here's how its path unfolds:

  • For the first 4.0 km (2.5 mi), it flows west and then north through Saint-Rosaire. This part of the river reaches the border of Saint-Louis-de-Blandford.
  • Next, it travels about 2.0 km (1.2 mi) westward until it reaches Route 165.
  • Then, it continues west for another 3.5 km (2.2 mi), passing under Highway 20.
  • Finally, it flows for about 0.6 km (0.37 mi) more to its end point.

Where the River Ends

The Goulet River eventually empties into the southeast side of the Bécancour River. This meeting point is located just east of the small village of Daveluyville.

Name of the River

The name "rivière Goulet" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is like a special committee that names places in Quebec.
