Grace Church, also known as the Grace Episcopal Church, is a special old church building. It is located in Buena Vista, Chaffee County, Colorado. The church was built in 1889 by the Lannan Brothers. It has a unique style called Carpenter Gothic.
This style means it looks like a fancy stone church, but it's made from wood. It has special wooden details like pointed windows and doors, and strong supports called buttresses. On January 20, 1978, Grace Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's an important historical building in the United States. In 2007, the church won an award for being beautifully restored.
A Special Partnership
In 2002, Grace Episcopal Church and the local United Methodist church decided to work together. They formed a "federated congregation." This means they are two separate church groups, but they worship in the same building.
They share services and activities. On some Sundays, an Episcopal priest leads the service. On other Sundays, a United Methodist minister leads it. This partnership allows both groups to share their faith and community. The United Methodist group is now called Grace United Methodist Faith Community.
