The Story of Grand Summit

Grand Summit has a history that goes back many years. A post office was opened there in 1882. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for a long time, but it eventually closed down in 1933.

Grand Summit was also an important spot for trains. It was known as a "shipping point" for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. This means that goods and products were loaded onto trains here to be sent to other towns and cities. In 1910, a count of the population, called a Census, showed that 52 people lived in Grand Summit.
