Graze is a snack company from the United Kingdom. It's known for its healthy snacks and is owned by a big company called Unilever. Graze offers more than 200 different snack mixes. You can get them in special subscription boxes, buy them online, or find them in stores. Every day, Graze sends out thousands of snack boxes all over the UK. For a while, Graze also sold snacks in the United States, starting in 2013. They have both sweet and savory snacks. Many of their products are also good for people who are vegan.
How Graze Started
Graze was created in 2008 by seven friends. They were brought together by Graham Bosher, who also started LoveFilm. The company began by sending out snacks like nuts, small puddings, and porridge. These snack boxes were delivered all across the United Kingdom. In 2012, a company called The Carlyle Group bought most of Graze.
Growing Bigger
In 2013, Graze opened a distribution center in New Jersey in the United States. This helped them start testing their service there. By late 2013, Graze had officially expanded into the United States. They even had offices in Jersey City, New Jersey and Manhattan, New York. By the end of 2014, Graze had earned a lot of money. By September 2017, Graze snacks were available in 7,500 stores across the United States.
In 2015, Graze announced they would sell their snacks in UK stores. These included popular shops like Sainsbury's, Boots UK, and WHSmith. That same year, Graze was named one of Britain's 100 fastest-growing companies. In 2016, Graze launched an online shop. This let people buy snacks without needing a subscription. They also started selling their snacks in Walgreens stores in the US. In February 2019, Graze became part of Unilever.
Later in 2019, Graze stopped its subscription service in the US. Their US website also stopped selling products. By December 2019, the website only served UK customers.
How Graze Makes Snacks
Graze uses a special computer program called DARWIN. This program helps them customize snack boxes for customers. It learns what snacks people like based on their choices on the website. Graze creates all its own recipes. Their snacks do not have genetically engineered ingredients. They also avoid artificial flavors, colors, high fructose corn syrup, or trans fats.
You can get variety boxes with four or eight snacks. These can be delivered every week, every two weeks, or once a month. Graze also sells larger sharing bags and multipacks. You can buy these directly from their online shop.
Giving Back
Since 2023, Graze has donated some of its profits to City Harvest. This charity is based in London. It helps fight food poverty by giving away extra food. Before this, Graze supported the Graze School of Farming in Uganda. This school helped over 400 families learn skills to feed and support themselves.
