Searching for the Lost City of Paititi

Gregory Deyermenjian has spent many years exploring the jungles and mountains of Peru. His main goal has been to find Paititi, a city that many believe holds secrets of the ancient Inca Empire.

Key Discoveries and Expeditions

Over the years, Deyermenjian has made several important discoveries related to the Inca civilization:

  • Mameria (1984-1989): He explored and recorded many Inca remains in this area.
  • Apu Catinti (1986): He was part of the first team to climb this mountain.
  • Toporake (1989): He found and documented Inca "barracks" (places where soldiers lived). In 1993, he also traveled along an Inca "Road of Stone" near the Toporake Plateau.
  • Callanga (1994-1995): He discovered and documented Inca and even older ruins here. In 1995, he found and was the first to climb an Inca complex at the base of Callanga's peak, "Llactapata."
  • Pyramids of Paratoari (1996): He was the first to visit and explore the true nature of these pyramids in Manú Province.
  • Pantiacolla Plateau (1999): He led an international team to follow the Inca "Road of Stone." They found "Lago de Ángel" (Angel Lake) and Inca platforms north of the Yavero River.
  • Río Choritiari (2000): He fully investigated claims that Paititi could be found along this river.

Finding Ruins at Último Punto (2004)

In June 2004, Gregory Deyermenjian and his expedition partners, Paulino Mamani and Goyo Toledo, made another important discovery. Their team, called "Quest for Paititi," found several significant Inca ruins. These ruins were located along different paths of the Inca Road of Stone, near a peak called Último Punto in the northern Pantiacolla region of Peru.
