Griselda Norma Allan (born November 22, 1905 – died August 23, 1987) was a talented English artist. She was especially famous for her beautiful paintings of flowers.

Early Life and Education
Griselda Allan was born in Sunderland, England. Her family was involved in the city's busy shipbuilding industry. She went to school in Sunderland and later at the St Felix School in Southwold.
In the 1920s, Griselda studied art at the Sunderland School of Art. This school is now part of the University of Sunderland. While there, she painted three flower panels for the library.
Art Studies in London and Abroad
After Sunderland, Griselda moved to London to continue her art education. She studied at the famous Royal College of Art. She also traveled to France and Germany to learn more about art.
From 1935 to 1939, Griselda attended the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. She was always learning and improving her painting skills.
Art During Wartime
During the Second World War, Griselda Allan taught drawing. She taught at the Ruskin School of Art and also at the Slade School of Art. The Slade School had moved to Oxford to be safer during the war.
Griselda also painted scenes of war work. She showed what was happening in shipyards during this time. She sent some of her paintings to the War Artists' Advisory Committee. This committee bought one of her artworks for their collection.
Return to Sunderland and Later Work
After the war ended, Griselda Allan went back to Sunderland. Nature became a very important part of her art. She focused on painting natural scenes, especially flowers.
In 1949, she married Karl E Buddeberg. Griselda Allan passed away in 1987 at the age of 81.
