Guardians Evolution facts for kids
Guardians Evolution (sometimes called Guardians: Evolution or just Guardians) is a super cool stop-motion animated TV show. You can watch it on APTN Kids. What makes it special is that it's shown in both the Cree language and English!
The show was directed by Dennis Jackson, who also helped create it with Melanie Jackson. They, along with Eric Jackson, wrote the first six episodes. These episodes made up Season 1, which aired in 2014. A second season with six more episodes came out in 2015, bringing the total to 12 episodes. After a short break, Season 3 premiered in 2018. Before the third season, fans even got to design their own special characters!

The Story of Guardians Evolution
The story of Guardians Evolution begins in the year 2078. At this time, a huge event called the Great Extinction Event happened on Earth. To save some people, five teenagers were put into a special deep sleep, called cryogenic freezing. This was part of a plan called Project Guardian.
They were supposed to sleep for 50 million years. But an earthquake caused their sleep pods to open early! So, they wake up about 41 million years later. Earth is now a very different place. Their parents are still stuck in their sleep pods and can't be safely woken up. This means the teenagers must rebuild civilization all by themselves.
With the help of a friendly robot, they need to help bring life back to the planet. But it's not easy! Another human who was also frozen has an army of evil robots. This person wants to stop the Guardians from rebuilding Earth.
The Guardians have an important mission. They need to find a special accelerator ring to power their base. This will help them fix things. They wear cool crystal-powered suits that make them super strong and fast. These suits also protect them from the wild weather and strange creatures outside. They also carry energy guns that can stun enemies. Their suits have buttons to call a hovercycle or put on a protective helmet. They can even shoot a grappling hook to climb!
In this future world, there are giant plant-eating creatures. They look a bit like long-necked dinosaurs, but they are actually mammals!
Meet the Characters
Here are some of the main characters you'll meet in Guardians Evolution:
The Guardians Team
- Eric Afron – He's the leader of the whole project. He's also Arimus's dad and the one who created Chum.
- Domain – This is the smart computer system that Chum talks to. She has a female voice.
- Chum – A helpful robot created by Eric. Chum is like a mentor and support system for the team.
- Arimus Afron – He's the leader of the teenage Guardian team and Eric's son.
- Kaultor Jandis – The team's security expert. He's also really good with vehicles.
- Valta Giori – She's the hacker of the group, super good with computers.
- Chema Wandot – The team's medic, who helps everyone stay healthy.
- Erin Tzaree – She's the scientist of the group, always figuring things out.
- Cherish – A mysterious new friend who helps the Guardians at the end of Season 2. She has a secret past with Ambrona and Danton.
The Eerimar
- Rajiak – A boy from the Eerimar group.
- Alushan – The leader of the Eerimar.
The Bad Guys
- Ambrona – An evil scientist who wants to stop the Guardians.
- Danton – Ambrona's evil robot helper.
- Sentry guards – These are the evil robots who follow Ambrona.

There's also a game for Guardians Evolution! An iTunes game was made by Wapos Bay Interactive Inc. and came out on January 15, 2014. Another game based on Season 2, called Into the Abyss, is also planned for the future.
