Güinope is a special kind of town called a municipality in Honduras. It is located in the El Paraíso department. This means it's a local area with its own government, part of a larger region.
The name Güinope comes from Mexico. It means "In the water of pigeons." In 2015, about 8,794 people lived there.

Güinope was founded a long time ago, in 1747, by a person named Esteban Rodríguez. It has a rich history and some fun traditions.
The Orange Festival
One of the most exciting events in Güinope is the "Festival of Oranges." This festival has been celebrated every year since 1981. It's a big party to celebrate the delicious oranges grown in the area.
San Isidro Labrador Celebration
In May, the people of Güinope also celebrate in honor of San Isidro Labrador. This is a special day to show respect for farmers and their hard work.
Honduras 30 Wonders Award
In 2021, Güinope received a special award. Its "RUTA NARANJA" (Orange Route) was named one of the "Honduras 30 Wonders." This means it's recognized as one of the most amazing places or attractions in the entire country!
