Guitar Hero (series) facts for kids
Guitar Hero is a super fun series of music video games. It lets you pretend you are a rock star! You play a special controller that looks like a guitar. Your goal is to play famous rock songs. These songs come from the 1960s all the way to today.
There are many games in the Guitar Hero series. The last main game was Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock in 2010. Later games, like Guitar Hero World Tour, added more instruments. You could play drums or sing into a microphone. Guitar Hero games work on most game consoles. These are devices like the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. Lots of people worldwide enjoy playing these games.
After Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock did not sell well, Activision stopped making new games. Activision is the company that owns Guitar Hero. They paused making games until 2015. Then, Guitar Hero Live was released in October of that year.

The "Guitar Grip", developed by Vicarious Visions for the Nintendo DS series Guitar Hero: On Tour provides four fret buttons for the game, while strumming is done on the DS touchscreen by use of a pick-shaped stylus.
